South Plains Educational Coop

South Plains Educational Cooperative (SPECO) is a shared services arrangement which provides special education services for 8 school districts. Students who need more intense programming attend school at Morton ISD. The Exceptional Transition Center is the transition program that services special needs students from 14 to 22 years old with varying levels of disABILITIES. Students learn vocational skills such as self-determination, self-awareness, social and emotional skills, financial literacy and employment skills.

Who are we? My name is Keely Kent, Director of SPECO and my team consists of our Transition Coordinator, Gloria Gamez, and our Vocational and High School teachers, Missy Patton and Cande Jackson. We are part of a 41 member team at SPECO and serve 8 districts in the area (Morton, Sundown, Smyer, Whitharral, Ropes, Meadow, Anton and Whiteface).
